SCAM ALERT!!!

SCAM ALERT!!!!

Today, I need to warn you about a SCAM! Lots of people are looking for ways to make money from working at home. Do NOT fall for this one!!

Global Pro Systems with Kevin & Lisa Jenkins is a total SCAM.

  • When you come across the web page, it asks for your email address to request the information.
  • It also states that the printed information package will cost you $9.95 for shipping. You need to enter your credit card information.
  • Before you ever receive the information, you are bombarded with a zillion emails from Kevin & Lisa Jenkins telling you to call them and set up your appointment with your mentor.

Scam Alert Bells Should Have Gone Off!!!

  • I received the printed information
  • I reviewed the information.
  • I was even cautious enough to check out information on the web regarding a SCAM!

After all of this, I did decide NOT to go further into this Global Pro Systems with Kevin & Lisa Jenkins and did email them my decision.

WHY you might ask?

  • The information that I read on the web from others that had checked it out showed that it was pretty much a SCAM!!
But, here is the real kicker. Today, I discovered a charge on my credit card for $39.95. It showed Kevin Jenkins. So, I called his number and left a message for him to return my call.
He did call me back and informed me that on the original web page where you sign up for the information, it says this is a 14 day free trial. So, Kevin Jenkins charged me $39.95 because I did NOT return the printed 6 page book and dvd.

Guess what?

NO where in the printed material does it state that you must return it if you do not start the program. I told Kevin Jenkins that and he referred back to that original web page and said he was sorry, but they had given me the full 14 days to return the printed material.
SUCKER!!!!!!!!!!

So, what have I done in response to the loss of my $39.95?
Well, here goes.

  1. Reported Global Pro Systems, Kevin & Lisa Jenkins to RIPOFF REPORT
  2. Took an ad on PennySaver Ads regarding Global Pro Systems & Kevin & Lisa Jenkins
  3. Posted on my Facebook account
  4. Posted on my Twitter account
  5. Posted an ad on my Craig's List account regarding Global Pro Systems & Kevin & Lisa Jenkins.

I will not get my money back. I learned a very valuable lesson. But guess what? I got $39.95 worth of satisfaction out of the 6 steps that I took to alert others to this SCAM!!!

Why Fedora Hats?

                                                           www.hats4everyone.com

Fedora Hats are more stylish than most other hats. They are made of many different materials, styles and colors.

  • For the majority of men who wear Fedora hats, it is a personal statement. This has made an impact on the American as well as global culture.  The fedora is enjoying a revival and the wearer has found that it is a cool hat to wear. It tends to make them feel rakish or modish.  Looking back in recent history, the Fedora was associated with gangsters and the Prohibition era.

  • Fedora have been associated with Indiana Jones and the movie franchise, Coach Tom Landry (Dallas Cowboys), Michael Jackson for his music videos, the Observers seen on television in Fringe, and Don Draper (Jon Hamm) in the television series Mad Men just to mention a few.

  • Due to the different materials used for Fedora hats, all ages can enjoy the style and individual statement that this hat can make.

  • The Fedora can be worn with informal wear and can be dressed up or down to express your own personal style.

  • In today's fashion scene, women are also enjoying the Fedora hat. Celebrity fashionistas such as Nicole Richie, Beyonce, Sienna Miller, Lindsay Lohan, Cameron Diaz and Victoria Beckham have all been spotted with fedoras. These can be dressed up by adding a silk, flowered, braided or colored ribbon which gives the hat a totally feminine look. Pair your Fedora hat with a pair of shorts and a loose blouse and you have a summery and sexy outfit.

Why should we wear hats

                                                          www.hats4everyone.com

Why should we wear hats?

Here are some of the reasons to wear a hat:

  • Visual Effect- The fashion of a hat can add a look of elegance and charm to almost any outfit. You might even call it the "icing on the cake", so to speak. It is an eye catcher and draws attention to the wearer in all cases. So if you want to make a statement or simply stand out in the crowd, you might consider adding a hat to your ensemble.

  • The Bad Hair Day- A hat is a perfect solution to a bad hair day. What better way to get rid of a problem than to cover it up? How else do you think we got the phrase "keep it under your hat"? It was used to cover up that nasty little secret.

  • To Prevent Hypothermia- One of the best ways to keep warm is to keep your head covered. You will be noticeably warmer if you do this simple thing.

  • To go incognito- Wearing a hat can add to a convincing disguise when you don't want to be recognized.

  • Simply to have fun- So pick out a style of hat that fits your personality and enjoy the day under the shade!

Authentic Western Hats

                                                       www.hats4everyone.com

Authentic Western Hats captures the true independent American West spirit. It is a true statement of style, function and durability.

The traditional cowboy hat is a high-crowned, wide-brimmed hat best known as the defining piece of attire for the North American cowboy. Today it is worn by many people, and is particularly associated with ranch workers in the western and southern United States. It is also worn by many country-western singers and  participants in the North American rodeo circuit. It is recognized around the world as part of Old West lore. The shape of a cowboy hat's crown and brim are often modified by the wearer for fashion and to protect against weather.
The Western Cowboy hat  is an item of apparel that can be worn in any corner of the world, and receive immediate recognition as part of North American cowboy culture.
Modern cowboy hats are made of fur-based felt, straw or less often, leather or rawhide. They are sold with a tall, rounded crown and a wide flat brim. They have a simple sweat band on the inside to stabilize the fit of the head, and usually a small decorative hat band on the outside of the crown. Hats are customized by creasing the crown and rolling the brim. Often a more decorative hat band is added. In some places, "stampede strings" or "wind strings" are also attached. Hats can be manufactured in virtually any color, but are most often seen in shades of beige, brown and black. Beginning in the 1940's, pastel colors were introduced, seen often on hats worn by movie cowboys and rodeo riders. Today's cowboy hat has remained basically unchanged in construction and design since the first one was created in 1865 by J.B. Stetson.
The choice is yours on what style of Western hat you would like to wear! We offer a large selection of Western hats which can be worn by both men and women. Visit us at www.hats4everyone.com

St. Patrick's Day from the beginning

                                                           www.hats4everyone.com

St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17, the saint's religious feast day and the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over 1,000 years. On St. Patrick's Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would dance, drink and feast--on the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage. Today, we enjoy corned beef and cabbage. There are several traditions that have developed over the years such as:

The Chicago River on St. Patrick's Day

As Irish immigrants spread out over the United States, other cities developed their own traditions. One of these is Chicago’s annual dyeing of the Chicago River green.  The practice started in 1962, when city pollution-control workers used dyes to trace illegal sewage discharges and realized that the green dye might provide a unique way to celebrate the holiday. That year, they released 100 pounds of green vegetable dye into the river--enough to keep it green for a week! Today, in order to minimize environmental damage, only 40 pounds of dye are used, and the river turns green for only several hours.
Although Chicago historians claim their city's idea for a river of green was original, some natives of Savannah,Georgia (whose St. Patrick's Day parade, the oldest in the nation, dates back to 1813) believe the idea originated in their town. They point out that, in 1961, a hotel restaurant manager named Tom Woolley convinced city officials to dye Savannah's river green. The experiment didn't exactly work as planned, and the water only took on a slight greenish hue. Savannah never attempted to dye its river again, but Woolley maintains (though others refute the claim) that he personally suggested the idea to Chicago's Mayor Richard J. Daley.

St. Patrick's Day Around the World

Today, people of all backgrounds celebrate St. Patrick's Day, especially throughout the United States, Canada and Australia. Although North America is home to the largest productions, St. Patrick's Day is celebrated in many other locations far from Ireland, including Japan, Singapore and Russia. The "wearing of the green" is now world wide. Along with this is the drinking of "green beer" at your local pub or tavern and don't forget the "hats" that now go along with this tradition.

Casual hats 4 everyone

                                                             www.hats4everyone.com

Casual hats come in many types for many different people. Some of the most common types that come to mind might be: OUTDOOR HATS

Fishing hats

These usually are a "baseball" type of hat made of cotton, canvas or a blend of materials to withstand some elements and abuse. They are an adjustable hat made to fit multiple different hat sizes. They will have a picture or saying on the front of the hat to depict what the hat is about. Here are some examples.

Hunting hats

These hats can be many different styles and colors but the most common color will be the camouflage or woodland camouflage. They are an adjustable hat made to fit multiple different hat sizes. Some hats can be plain while others offer a quote on the front and they are made of blended material to withstand elements and abuse. Here are two examples of possible choices.

Sports or logo hats

These hats are in the same basic style, but with many different logos or sayings on the front or sides of the hats. Whether you are showing your team spirit or your favorite beverage, these hats can tell the world exactly how you feel. Most of these hats are the "snapback" style with a rolled or flat brim. They are made in the typical 6 panel style from mesh, cotton or a blend of fabrics to withstand elements and abuse.  Normally, the logo is embroidered on the front or possible the side of the hat. Here are some examples:

Hats for women of 2013

WOMEN AND THE HATS THEY WEAR
                                                          www.hats4everyone.com

The modern woman of 2013 knows we don’t have to wear a hat, and many have decided they want to wear them.  Even if you are not a hat lover, there is still an event or occasion when you want to, or have to wear one.

  • Wide brimmed fancies are prevalent at weddings, luncheons, the races, funerals and church.
  •  Casual hats protect the skin at the beach, the park, sporting events, and for a walk around town.

The styles range from gorgeous creations to cute functionality.   For sun/rain protection, for warmth, to represent your team, for style or respect, there will always be an occasion when a hat is required.

  • Many styles of hats are unisex.  Fedoras are popular and can be dressed up for the modern woman by adding ribbons, silk flowers or scarves to transform the hat into your own personal creation. Women should add the hatband decorations to the right side.

  • Kate  Middleton wears hats, and she often wears what is called a Fascinator. That is a hat that is attached to your head with a headband.  It will virtually fit all head sizes.  As you can guess, Fascinators are very popular right now due to Kate Middleton.

  • In fashion terms, hats are a very noticeable accessory because the onlooker’s attention is first drawn to the face. A hat is the most noticeable fashion item anyone can wear.  The old saying goes 'if you want to get ahead and get noticed, then get a hat'.  Indeed the word 'ahead' means just that one head further forward.

Why do people wear hats?

                                               WHY DO PEOPLE WEAR HATS?

                                                       www.hats4everyone.com

Why People Wear Hats
People wear  lots of different types of hats. From simple straw hats to sun visors to designer caps for making just the right fashion statement, a hat can tell you a lot about the wearer. If you ask someone about their hat they will usually tell you why they wear it. But, there may be more to it than what they tell you.  Here are the most common reasons people wear  hats. It may just be one or some combination of these three: protection, affiliation and style.

  • Hats for Protection
When a person is exposed to the elements (sun, heat, rain and cold) a hat can protect the ears, neck, face and top of the head.  A wide brim  hat is the best choice to offer the best protection for the wearer.

  • Hats for Affiliation
People who belong to a specific group, club or team often want their head wear to identify that affiliation. Most team sport hats fit this category. Also other outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, golfing or tennis. Military hats would also be included in this category. Whether an active member of the Armed Forces or a Veteran, your hat would show your affiliation.

  • Hats for Style
People like to wear the latest fashion, style or just follow the latest trend. Cadet style hats are a good example. They are distressed (made to look used) and have a small bill. Although they provide minimum protection they are very popular among the fashion conscious. Decorative sun visors are another example of head wear that is more about style than function.
Whatever your reason for your hat, we can help you with your hat selection. We carry chic, trendy and stylish hats for the family. Please visit our store site at www.hats4everyone.com

Hat facts I need to know

                                                       INTERESTING HAT FACTS

                                                          www.hats4everyone.com

WHAT STYLE OF HAT SHOULD I WEAR?

  • If you have a small face, wear a hat with a SMALL crown and brim
  • If you have a large face, wear a hat with a LARGE crown and brim

HOW TO TELL IF YOUR HAT IS NOT FITTING CORRECTLY

  • If you keep pushing your hat up off of your forehead or ears
  • If your hat blows off in the slightest breeze
  • If your hat slips or shifts when you turn your heat from side to side

HOW TO IMPROVE THE FIT OF A LOOSE HAT

  • Use the self adhesive scratch pads (that are used to protect furniture) inside the crown band
  • Use self adhesive weather stripping inside the crown band to tighten the fit
  • Use Dr. Scholl's pads inside the crown band to tighten the fit
Just make sure that you do not make the hat too tight. If so, remove some of the padding that you have applied to the crown band for a more comfortable fit.

If you can slide your index finger between your head and the hat, it fits correctly.

HATS FOR SAFETY

  • As Americans are getting more concerned about protecting themselves from the dangers of too much sun, and its contribution to too much skin cancer in our culture, they are also turning back to an old safety device that’s also a fashion statement — the hat.
  • According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, there is a trend in clothing designers to not only bring back the hat, but to include styles that offer wide brims and offer protection for the face, ears and neck against the suns ultraviolet radiation (UVR). Exposure to the UVR does increase your risk of all skin cancers.

Hat Facts #8
                                               http://www.hats4every-1.com

How to determine your hat size:

To determine your head size, use a measuring tape to measure around your head above your ears where you would wear your hat. If your head size falls in between two sizes choose the larger of the two sizes. A small piece of foam behind the sweatband can make a large hat fit perfect.
XS = 20-3/4 to 21 inches or Size 6-5/8 to 6-3/4
S = 21 to 21-1/2 inches or Size 6-7/8 to 7
M = 22 to 22-1/2 inches or Size 7-1/8 to 7-1/4
L = 22-3/4 to 23 inches or Size 7-1/4 to 7-3/8

Most women's hats are available only in One Size Fits Most. Actual sizing varies from designer to designer, but in general they will fit a head with a circumference of 21-1/2 to 22-1/4 inches. Some hats will fit a smaller or bigger head depending on the style.

JANUARY 15TH IS NATIONAL HAT DAY............., WEAR A HAT!!!

January 15, 19?? - While the exact year is unknown, January 15 marks the unofficial National Hat Day. The origin of this “holiday” is unknown but the rumor is that it was merely started by hat enthusiasts for no other reason but to celebrate their favorite hats!

The golden rule, which supersedes all of the known rules, is to wear a hat you feel comfortable and confident in, in a style which fits the occasion. If you feel you look good wearing a certain hat, then you probably do!!

Head-wear both defines generations and defies easy categorization.  A look at the types of hats people wore tells us a bit about the time they lived in and also about what we're saying to the world when we wear them.

"HAT" Expressions

Hat Facts #7
                                               http://www.hats4every-1.com

Mad As A Hatter
Totally demented, crazy. [Hatters did, indeed, go mad. They inhaled fumes from the mercury that was part of the process of making felt hats. Not recognizing the violent twitching and derangement as symptoms of a brain disorder, people made fun of affected hat-makers, often treating them as drunkards. In the U.S., the condition was called the "Danbury shakes." (Danbury, Connecticut, was a hat-making center.) Mercury is no longer used in the felting process: hat-making -- and hat-makers -- are safe.]

Hold On To Your Hat
A warning that some excitement or danger is imminent. [When riding horseback or in an open-air early automobile, the exclamation "hold on to your hat" when the horse broke into a gallop or the car took-off was certainly literal.]

Wearing Many Hats
This of course is a metaphor for having many different duties or jobs. [Historically, hats have often been an integral, even necessary, part of a working uniform. A miner, welder, construction worker, undertaker, white-collar worker or banker before the 1960s, chef, farmer, etc. all wear, or wore, a particular hat. Wearing "many hats" or "many different hats" simply means that one has different duties or jobs.]

At the Drop of a Hat
Fast. [Dropping a hat can be a way in which a race can start (instead of a starting gun for example). Also, a hat is an apparel item that can easily become dislodged from its wearer. Anyone who wears hats regularly has experienced the quickness by which a hat can fly off your head.]

Bee In Your Bonnet
An indication of agitation or an idea that you can't let go of and just have to express. [A real bee in one's bonnet certainly precipitates expression.]

Pass The Hat
Literally to pass a man's hat among members of an audience or group as a means for collecting money. Also to beg or ask for charity. [The origin is self-evident as a man's hat turned upside down makes a fine container.]

Keeping Something Under One's Hat
Keeping a secret. [People kept important papers and small treasures under their hats. One's hat was often the first thing put on in the morning and the last thing taken off at night, so literally keeping things under one's hat was safe keeping. A famous practitioner of this was Abraham Lincoln. ]

INTERESTING HAT FACTS #6

To “throw your hat in the ring” is an Americanism dating back to early 19th century meaning to enter a contest, especially to declare your candidacy for political office. Originally, the “ring” was a boxing ring set up for fighting. Throwing your hat into the ring meant you would fight anyone in the crowd. In political history, the phrase was used around 1912 by Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt when he announced his intention to challenge William Howard Taft for the U.S. Presidency by stating “My hat’s in the ring”.

The decoration for a hatband is always displayed on the left side of the hat as the story goes because the Knights from the Middle Ages wore his lady’s feather on the left side of his hat to show his affection.

“Hold on to your hat” is an expression that originated in Scotland in the 18th century. Scottish solders were told to keep their hats on in battle so they could recognize the enemy.

The three cornered hat, “Tricorn”, was the most common men’s hat in Europe for most of the 18th century.

The phrase “a feather in your cap” is believed to come from the 17th century and be related to the custom of sticking feathers in a soldiers cap to indicate the number of enemy he had slain.

One hat that is “distinctly American” is the broad brimmed Ten Gallon hat of the Southwest.

A ten gallon hat only holds three (3) quarts of water!

The original “cowboy hat” was manufactured by John Stetson and called the “Boss of the Plains”. It was a light weight, high crowned, wide-brimmed, waterproof, fur-felt hat. It had a rounded six inch crown with a flat seven inch brim. A plain hatband was fitted to allow for adjusting to the head size.

Hat Facts 3

INTERESTING HAT FACTS 3

The Panama Hat, made from the Jijippa plant, has never been made in Panama. It is made in Ecuador. According to the legend, the Panama hat obtained its name from Teddy Roosevelt. During the inauguration of the Panama Canal in 1913, he received an Ecuadorian straw hat as a gift. He thanked them for the gift calling it a “Panama Hat”.

Suppliers of men’s hats are called hatters and milliners are people who supply women’s hats.

Most hats maintain their shape despite being crushed or rolled up because when the hat material is first made, it is steamed and shaped while moist. Then it is allowed to dry on a wooden hat block which traps the shape within the material.

In a New York City auction given by Guernsey’s, the starting bid for the “Wicked Witch of the West’s” hat worn by Margaret Hamilton in “The Wizard of Oz” was $30,000. It eventually sold for an unbelievable price of $170,000.

Abraham Lincoln’s hat is on display at the Smithsonian Institute. His hat size was 7 1/8.

The baseball cap is America’s most significant contribution to the world of modern hats. The current version gained widespread popularity when it was worn by Babe Ruth.

Annie Oakley, Buffalo Bill, Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok all wore Stetson hats.

London’s iconic Black Taxi Cabs have to be tall enough to accommodate a gentleman wearing a top hat, even today.

The original Indiana Jones hat lives at George Lucas’ 5,156 acre Skywalker Ranch in Marin County California. It is priceless.
