Hat facts I need to know

                                                       INTERESTING HAT FACTS

WHAT STYLE OF HAT SHOULD I WEAR?

  • If you have a small face, wear a hat with a SMALL crown and brim
  • If you have a large face, wear a hat with a LARGE crown and brim

HOW TO TELL IF YOUR HAT IS NOT FITTING CORRECTLY

  • If you keep pushing your hat up off of your forehead or ears
  • If your hat blows off in the slightest breeze
  • If your hat slips or shifts when you turn your heat from side to side

HOW TO IMPROVE THE FIT OF A LOOSE HAT

  • Use the self adhesive scratch pads (that are used to protect furniture) inside the crown band
  • Use self adhesive weather stripping inside the crown band to tighten the fit
  • Use Dr. Scholl's pads inside the crown band to tighten the fit
Just make sure that you do not make the hat too tight. If so, remove some of the padding that you have applied to the crown band for a more comfortable fit.

If you can slide your index finger between your head and the hat, it fits correctly.

HATS FOR SAFETY

  • As Americans are getting more concerned about protecting themselves from the dangers of too much sun, and its contribution to too much skin cancer in our culture, they are also turning back to an old safety device that’s also a fashion statement — the hat.
  • According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, there is a trend in clothing designers to not only bring back the hat, but to include styles that offer wide brims and offer protection for the face, ears and neck against the suns ultraviolet radiation (UVR). Exposure to the UVR does increase your risk of all skin cancers.
